Welcome from Executive Director
Dear Council 93 Members:
Welcome to the Council 93 website.
We at Council 93 know how hard you work each and every day on the job. As your Executive Director, I want to assure you that we are continuously striving to match your hard work by finding new, better and more efficient ways to provide you with the quality representation and service that you deserve.
As we work together to move our union forward, I encourage all AFSCME members to visit this site on a regular basis to stay informed about issues of importance to AFSCME members within our region and across the nation.
Visitors will also find detailed information on Council 93 training programs, volunteer opportunities, political rallies and other important events and initiatives.
Most of the information on the site is available to everyone. However, some of the information is viewable only to AFSCME members, staff and retirees. So please take a minute to register as a member and please Like Us on Facebook.
These are challenging times but I am very optimistic about the future of our union. Thank you for all that you do for our region, our states and our communities. It is an honor to serve as your Executive Director.
In Solidarity,
Frank Moroney, Executive Director
Welcome from Council 93 President Charles C. Owen, Jr.
Dear AFSCME Brothers and Sisters:
Welcome to the AFSCME Council 93 website. These are difficult times for union members – especially those of us who work in the public sector. It seems as though every day we face a new or renewed attack on our collective bargaining rights, healthcare and pensions. And, as municipal, state and county governments struggle with decreased revenues, the threat of privatization is looming constantly around us. Now more than ever, we need to stay unified, strong and informed.
As your president, I encourage you to check this site regularly for Council events, training initiatives, organizing campaigns and important updates on legislation and other issues of concern to AFSCME members and organized labor.
While most of the material on this site is available to all visitors, some of the content can only be viewed by current and retired members of AFSCME and AFSCME staff. In order to ensure you have access to all content, please take a minute to register as a member.
In addition to gaining access to exclusive content, registered members will gain the ability to directly email state legislators and submit letters to the editor of dozens of newspapers in our four-state region.
Please take this important registration step now and please take a minute to Like Us on Facebook.
Thank you for your support and for all you do to keep our union strong.
Charles C. Owen, Jr., President
AFSCME Council 93
